W.A. Bolin has been Sweden’s Royal Court Jeweller since 1916 and before that was Court Jeweller to the Russian court for 125 years. The royal appointment means that W.A. Bolin counts the Swedish Royal House and Court among its customers. W.A. Bolin is the only Court Jeweller entrusted with the task of checking the Swedish crown jewels when they are removed from their security boxes at the Royal Treasury. Once a yearly occurrence, this is now only done on special occasions, most recent being for Prince Bertil’s funeral in 1997 and in conjunction with the “Sköna juveler” (Magnificent Jewels) exhibition at the Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts in 2000.
